How We Got Here
I'm Michelle and I am a trainer of dogs and their owners. My passion for dog training started with watching my Dad train German Shepherds when I was growing up. He instilled in me a great love and respect for dogs and an understanding of the bond between a dog and its owner.
Training my own dogs and those of friends around the world over the last 30 years fuelled this passion even more. It was time to help others.

Our current lifestyles makes fulfilling a dog's needs increasingly more difficult. Dog parks, beaches, even our own neighbourhoods have become more dangerous to walk our dogs in. We work longer hours and have fewer places to exercise our dogs. Increased reactivity and anxiety in our canine companions is a direct reflection of this, along with other factors.

Obedience, desensitising, and increasingly longer walks are only partial answers to what our dogs need. With this in mind I created K9 Training Wheels, a mobile fitness and training solution that addresses your dog's emotional, mental and physical fulfilment.

Fulfilment
Exercise is definitely important for dogs but we do not believe in the saying "a tired dog is a happy dog." At K9 Training Wheels we believe a "fulfilled" dog is a happy dog so we developed the mobile fitness and training van so that we can help owners in fulfilling their dog's mental, emotional as well as physical needs. We believe this holistic approach helps to improve fitness, strengthen cognitive skills and reduce stress making for a happier dog overall.

Deuce is the sweetness boy and just LOVES his cuddles. Still young he he is full of zest and is SO vocal. We can't find his squeaker on-off switch so we will just have to love him for the whinger that he is.
JoJo
Little Miss Prancy Pants
We rescued JoJo as a nearly 6 month old and could NOT imagine life any other way. Built on Boing and endless energy, she cracks us up regularly. She is turning into a wonderful helper dog and can't wait to see how she develops.
The Dogs that got us Here!
Yogi & BooBoo
These two were meant to be a pair and each lived 13 1/2 years. Yogi taught us patience as with his severe case of epilepsy he couldn't always understand limits and boundaries. our eternal optimist though, he gave us joy and laughter in abundance!
BooBoo was Yogi's assistance dog to start with but ended up being a teacher for 5 German Shepherds adapting himself for what each of them needed in their development.
Saffron & Bear II
Whilst our time with each of these was extremely short their impact on our future was profound. Saffron struggled with severe anxiety and Bear II was the first since my childhood that had major reactivity issues.

They are the major catalyst into my researching, continued learning and dedication not only to the breed but how I can help other owners and dogs with similar issues!

Our first German Shepherd together and my first since moving to Australia. A beautiful soul and the perfect companion!
